Can the whole family see the massage therapist?
Yes, but only one at a time... or in our case 2 at a time...Massage therapy benefits people of all ages and can be used in the treatment of both acute and chronic conditions. While it benefits the injured, the ill and the stressed, massage therapy is also excellent at preventing musculoskeletal problems before they develop.
Seniors find gentle massage therapy helpful with achy necks or low back and leg pain.
Kids with repetitive stress from computers and gaming, and busy amateur and competitive sports schedules, find massage therapy to be a very effective non-medicinal solution.
Any adult, in any job field has a great case for needing massage therapy... and let's be honest - it just feels great!
What exactly does massage therapy do?
Massage therapy increases the blood flow and circulation in the body, promoting healing and rejuvenation. Massage therapy literally pushes blood through the tissue, breaks up scar tissue and separates the fibers of the muscle.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through long, slow strokes and deep finger pressure across the fiber's of the muscles, tendons and fascia. Deep tissue massage helps break up and eliminate scar tissue, and is often concentrated on a specific area. This therapy may cause some soreness during or after the therapy, but you should be feeling better than ever after a day or two.
The purpose of deep tissue massage is to "unstick" the fibers of the muscle from each other, while releasing deeply-held patterns of tension, removing toxins, and relaxing and soothing the muscle. Always drink plenty of water after deep tissue massage to help the body flush out the toxins released by your massage.
